A Friendly Heads-Up for Our Out-of-Town Guests

We’re so excited to celebrate our special day with you in Los Angeles. Before you arrive, we wanted to give you a few friendly tips about the city, especially if you're unfamiliar with the area.

• LA is HUGE! This means traveling from one part of the city to another can take longer than expected.

• Traffic is a part of LA life: Depending on when you’re traveling, it can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 1.5 hours (or sometimes even longer, even on the weekends) to get from “the Westside” (aka Venice, Santa Monica, Playa Del Rey, etc.) to “the Eastside” (Downtown LA, La Cañada Flintridge, Pasadena, etc.) or vice versa.

• We are providing you with the full LA tour! Friday’s welcome events are taking place on the Westside and Saturday’s wedding events are on the Eastside. Please plan your accommodations and transportation accordingly. Tips below.

Airports to Fly Into

• Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): The primary airport serving the Los Angeles area,
  about 30 miles from La Cañada Flintridge and about 10 miles from Venice Beach.

• Bob Hope Airport (Burbank, BUR): Located on the Eastside and closer to La Cañada Flintridge (about 12 miles away). This airport can be a great option and is often less crowded than LAX.

  Where should we stay?

Here are some recommended hotels for our guests, conveniently located near both the wedding venue and the welcome party. (Please Note: The stay is complicated with our wedding. Most time will be spent on the Westside, while the Wedding day will be on the Eastside. Please plan accordingly.)

• The Langham Huntington, Pasadena: A luxurious hotel situated about 5 miles from La Cañada Flintridge, featuring elegant accommodations and beautiful gardens. Will and Kathleen will be staying here Saturday night, as this is where the party will continue post-reception! Feel free to join us!

• Santa Monica Proper Hotel: Luxury hotel in Santa Monica within walking distance to the beach. Rooms and suites are designed to harness the natural light and ocean breezes and enjoy exclusive access to the Westside’s only rooftop pool deck.

• Shore Hotel: Situated on the Santa Monica oceanfront, this eco-friendly hotel is about 20 miles from La Cañada Flintridge and offers stunning ocean views, making it a perfect spot for guests looking to enjoy the beach.

• Gjelina Hotel: Located in Venice Beach this hotel, guest house, and event space from the Gjelina Group, one block from the Boardwalk and Beach.

• Hotel June: A stylish boutique hotel just minutes from LAX, Hotel June offers modern comfort with California charm. This hotel is about a 5 minute drive from Friday’s welcome party.

  *Given the recent fires, we anticipate that there may be long-term impacts to the availability of hotel and Airbnb options. We recommend booking asap, but are also hopeful that demand will die down. We also encourage guests to check out Airbnb and VRBO for local rentals. Our hearts go out to all those impacted by the Los Angeles Wildfires. There are no words for the utter loss and devastation that our city has faced, but we’re hopeful that our wedding will be a time to come together and enjoy what’s most important in life - each other.
